Walks

Three short walks have been laid out for seeing the notebook’s wildlife in the field: one inside the forest, one along the dams, and one between the village and the aqueducts. Choose a walk, then click the numbered stops on the map to read what to look for at each one.

Walk

Being a good guest in the field

Every one of these walks passes through the homes of the creatures that live there. A few simple rules mean you do not disturb their daily life without seeing any less yourself.

    • Stay on the path; most nests and flowers are right beside it.
    • Do not approach a nest or a chick; take your photograph from a distance.
    • Keep your dog on a lead; it matters for ground-nesting birds and for tortoises.
    • Do not dig up any plant and do not move tortoises.
    • Take your rubbish home with you, and light no fire during the fire season.
